How can we audit remote computers in AN 6?

Postby Laurentiu on Mon Feb 08, 2010 10:00 am

We have more than 70% of our computers outside the network. Unfortunately, our security policy dosn't allow any direct connection between remote users and LAN.
So, we can say that all remote computers are never connected in the LAN.

Now we have a copy of ina32.exe on each remote computer which it is started everyday. We have created an application which send automaticaliy the audit file trough port 80 to Alloy audit server.

I have no idea about the application you have or the setup, but go into d6 and click on audit settings. you'll see there's audit sources shown there. from what I understand, the one called email might be what you want. if these remote machines at least have smtp access you can have audit results emailed to a mailbox and then put right into the database when delivered.

note that I haven't tested this, but that was as per Paul in a webinar about a week ago.
