Auditing certain machines return Error: 5. Access is denied

When I audit some machines using On-Demand audit it connects and starts the audit then it stops and displays this error

[machinename]: Failed: Error receiving audit data (.adt file. Error: 5. Access is denied)

Any ideas??

I had this same issue, but it has more to do with Discovery than Express. Alloy has a KB article about this here - http://support.alloy-software.com/?mode ... d=KB001402

It says it could be from:

1.The On-demand audit account is not sufficient for connecting to the remote computer.
2.The computer being audited is turned OFF or disconnected from the network.
3.Firewall and/or third party product may eliminate connection to the remote computer.

For me it was the first one. The login I was using didn't have admin rights to the machine giving me the error.

Doh! :oops: It appears the computer I was trying to audit was discovered from Active Directory, but off! :lol: Thanks Dennis.
