Reports Designer misses functionality

Postby ICT Tebodin on Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:16 am

To create custom reports wwe purchased Crystal Reports XI Developer Edition. When I go to Reports in Alloy I can add a New report and than choose Design Report. This shows the Crystal Reports Designer layout, but without the menu's. I only see 'File'. I cannot create reports now. In AN6 I have administrators role. Are there other settings to change to have full functionality of Crystal Reports in Alloy?

Brendan, I don't use the built in version of crystal much, but I remember it was totally different. most things are handled in right-click menus. can you right-click and find options there?

Elias,

Thanx for your feedback! Right-clicking works. :) I found out via Alloy Sales that the Designer version indeed is limited to this.

However we also puchased the Developer Edition, which is more extensive. I hope to receive it soon to try out this version.

Yeah it's limited in some functionality and it's total different.

There's one big advantage to the built in designer. The full product - Crystal Developer XI - is licensed for one computer, but the built in design is licensed for your entire company. For us this was an important advantage.
