categorizing the Discovered Installations

Postby Tebodin on Mon Oct 10, 2011 10:45 am

Does anyone have experience with categorizing the Discovered Installations? Maybe tagging the software?

I have seen an option in Discovery Administrative settings to set to Primary, Secondary, Illegal or Ingnore.

But I would like also to be able to filter on software that is:
1. part of our default image for desktop
2. part of our default image for laptop
2. part of all the updates (language packs, hotfixes, etc.)
3. part of installed software by the user
4. illegal
5. etc.

Yeah you can set a group in discovery and see it in navigator's software products, but you can't create new groups or use those groups anywhere in workflow.

Maybe use the Configuration object. Create a Configuration called Desktop Image and relate all the software to it that's part of it?
