Notify Requester Synchronise with address book

Postby GPS on Tue Feb 02, 2010 8:21 pm

When we use the Notify Requester option and say choose to CC a 3rd party we need to complete the field manually - it would be handy if it were synchronised with our Outlook address book. Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks.

Not sure if this would ever synch with Outlook, but surely it could use person records better. This is something I've asked for as well.

For instance, I'm not a fan of typing email addresses when they exist already in the system. Additionally, I'm also not a fan of even selecting email addresses. IMO, from a form you should be able to select a person's name and then be able to reference the person's email address in the email notification.

Thoughts?

Actually there's a workaround for above, but I had to enter a feature request for the ideal. According to devs we can't consider what I mentioned above until 6.1.

Anyways, if you create a UDF that references persons, then have a form use that field, you can set that person email address to the TO field in the email notification.

It's not ideal, but it's possible to at least make it look better and make it easier to use.

Thanks Paul, will give it a go.
I can see that when we roll out V6 the rest of the technicians will notice this and ask the question.
