Anyone start messing with the workflow?

Postby eliaslynch on Wed Jan 13, 2010 9:19 pm

There's not much in the way of documentation although the admin settings help is not so bad. I've been reverse engineering the quickstart database workflow that comes with the beta and it's pretty impressive. It seems faily intuitive, but I'm still not sure how it all works.

I found out that you can control the self service portal fields through a form in the admin settings though. Nice one Alloy :)

Yeah workflow improvements are the crown jewel. It's a must dive into.

I would recommend Elias's path. It's great to upgrade your production database, but I would also create a separate database using the quickstart template.

The quickstart, unlike the quickstart in AN5, actually comes with workflow and will give you a lot of direction as to how it all works. You can also take that workflow and export it out to xml and into your production db.

And while you may think you already have workflow, keep in mind all your workflow exists only in triggers after it's imported. You'll want to take advantage of the actions.

I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Lots more abilities though.

After these last few days I think I'm getting the hang of it fairly well. IMO it's much improved.
