Uploading audit data - serials vs autogen Asset Tags

Postby memcalli on Sun Apr 17, 2005 9:56 pm

Hi there,

We have manually added all our computers into Asset Nav. Asset Navs automatically generated its Asset Tags and we manually entered in the unique pc serials. These pcs have been deployed. We want to now collect data on these pcs. We can retrieve info using the Network Inventory tool but we get conflicts when uploading - how can we get AssetNav to upload the audit data to the computer item in AssetNav that shares the same serial number. Note: The Asset Tag in the pc is different to the Asset nav autogen Asset Tag

We are using Asset Nav Ent v 4.5

A procedure for updating manually added computers with the information from the audit snapshots is explained in details in the Asset Navigator Help (Help -> Working With Hardware Assets -> Computers -> article "Loading Audit Data to Manually Added Computer Records").
