On-Demand Auditing

I'm having trouble getting on-demand auditing to work. When I pick a single computer to audit, an error messag is generated: On-Demand Audit Status: Failed: Error starting audit. WMIreplied: "Access denied". Make sure that the deployment share is included in the NullSessionShares list.
The data is kept on a Win2K3 server, the share is included in the NullSessionShares, all permissions are correct according to the Deployment Wizard. I'm running Network Inventory from a Win XP Pro machine.
This error has occurred since we upgraded the server to Win2K3 from Win 2000.

You should check the WMI permissions on your audit clients.

Scheduled auditing, set to run weekly, works ok.

Scheduled auditing works fine because it doesn't require WMI. On-demand specifically requires WMI which you don't seem to have installed or correctly set up as mentioned in the gettingstarted.pdf file.

I have run into the exact same problem after upgrading from W2K to 2K3 server. I went back and verified that my test machine to be audited has all of the settings as indicated on page 72 of the gettingstarted.pdf file. Deployment location is Win2K3, alloy machine is XPpro, audited machine is XPpro. I did not have this problem prior to going to Win2K3 Server.

Required Win2K3 specific registry changes as stated in the documentation.
