When i try to test the on-demand audit feature ibget the message =
Failed : Error starting Audit. WMI replied "unknown faliure"
Can someone tell me what would cause this?

There are many misconfigurations that could cause this error. Make sure you have followed all On-demand audit steps laid out in Getting Started guide. For further assistance, send a list of -all- On-demand audit configuration steps you have taken to support@alloy-software.com with a reference to forum ID 2635.
