Changes between scans

Postby DaveBarratt on Wed Jun 09, 2004 6:22 am

Is there any way to identify changes from one scan to the next for the same machine?

Also is there any eprformance degradation on analysing 700+ machines?

You can't track change histories with Network Inventory. You might want to look at Asset Navigator. It can collect the same data, but its database backend enables change history tracking, manual data edit, and other features.

Tracking 700+ machines is well within Network Inventory's capabilities, some users track several thousand.

New software instalation detection

Postby Bruhn on Sun Jul 04, 2004 1:01 am

We need some tool to notify any non approved software installation. The obvious manner is comparing the differences betwen the scans.
There are any form to discover it using Asset Navigator?
You intend to develop any solution to this question?

In Asset Navigator you can compare the differences between two scans, though there is no facility for sending you alerts based on those differences.
