Network trouble after implementing Nina Audit

Postby isamoylov on Thu May 23, 2002 3:38 am

Hey guys!

Our company bought the NINA full version after we had running the Personal Edition. We had it the usual way: Network share, Login script. So far so good. Official policy is as following: No user has to contain files on his / her client machine. Everything needs to be stored on to the servers.

Because of that, we activated the file scanning utility. Intervals have been set to 30 days for Inventory scanning and 180 days for file scanning. The main office is connected per 100Mbit Lines, running about 14 servers for file / print / login and several other functions like notes / e-fax. 4 servers are dedicated to Citrix / terminal. We have about 15 branch offices which are connected to the main office through and ISDN Multiplexer, current speeds range between 64k and 256K.

We started auditing our Network on Tuesday evening, planning to Audit our network whilst user login on wednesday. Which totally impacted our network to the point where we had to disable Nina and then to reset routers and switches as well as shut down our servers. Shortly afterwards ( no NINA is running ), we are again having troubles with our network with the same symptoms as before. Is there any Nina related issue known to you?

Please help if you can, the matter is urgent.
Thanks in advance

Well, depending on the file scan settings, the resulting snapshot can be up to 1-1.5 Mb in size. This may cause an impact if all users log in around the same time and all snapshots are sent over the network.

Please note that the more file types you include in the file scan, the more size of the resulting file will be. Please e-mail us ( the configuration file - ina32.exe and one of the .scn files from the network share.
