Postby Rosik on Mon May 13, 2002 7:21 am

I configure a share on server (Linux with SAMBA) in logginscript I add a mapping share folder. All user have write rights in this folder. When I open Network Inventory Navigator, application create a file on share folder but this file is empty :(
Q: Does Network Inventory Navigator work with SAMBA ?

A clarification is required. When you open Network Inventory Navigator no files is created. A new snapshot can be created only when you run ina32.exe manually, through the login script or using the Welcome Wizard.

As a suggestion - please make sure the folder has also MODIFY rights.

I\'ve got the same problem I think. I created the files with the deployment wizard Version 2.6.0, stored them on a samba 2.2.3a share and started ina32. The analyser started, collected information and got the following error:

File in the same folder as ina32:
16.05.2002 16:24:18 - Cannot create file W:AuditData3BDFC109-3359-42A6-A834-22F58B3805E6.adt

in the folder W:AuditData is a zero length 3BDFC109-3359-42A6-A834-22F58B3805E6.adt file.

rights are as they should be.

So what can I do now?

Could you do a simple test - log in on the workstation under the user account and try to create a file in the AuditData folder. Does this work? Are you able to modify the file and save it back?
