HTML Reports

Postby MC2011 on Tue May 24, 2011 4:58 pm

Im trying to setup a scheduled HTML report.
I know D5 has the option to run these reports from the console, but i need to be able to schedule them.
Looking in the install files i am not seeing where the HTML report is being run.

What i have done so far.
-Created a "HTML reports" folder to hold all the HTML docs for the discovered devices.
-Customized the look of the report to fit my company.

Scripting is not really my cup of tea:)...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
MC

I just so happened to still have AD5 installed! :)

It looks like it's pretty straight forward. I don't think you need to script anything. Just create the command line and have a scheduled task handle it. For instance,

Code: Select all
wr.exe /OUT=\\servername\sharename

I haven't tested that, but based on the instructions below it seems correct.

Automated Web Publishing
Not available in the Free Edition
Alloy Discovery ships with a standalone utility for automatic web publishing: wr.exe (it is located in the bin folder, i.e. C:\Program Files\Alloy Software\Alloy Discovery 5\Bin\wr.exe).

You can implement this command-line utility as a scheduled task, which automates the process of generating web reports on a regular basis.

Usage: wr.exe /OUT=<path> [/SRC=<path>]
[/NO_ALL]
or
[/NO_BIOS]
[/NO_MEMORY]
[/NO_MOTHERBOARD]
[/NO_SYSTEMENCLOSURE]
[/NO_CPU]
[/NO_OS]
[/NO_DRIVES]
[/NO_PHYSICALDRIVES]
[/NO_PORTS]
[/NO_VIDEO]
[/NO_LAN]
[/NO_INET]
[/NO_WINSOCK]
[/NO_SHARED]
[/NO_PRINTERS]
[/NO_SOFTWARE]
[/NO_ENGINES]
[/NO_STARTUP]
[/NO_ENVIRONMENT]

The /OUT option specifies the output directory for HTML pages. By default, the source of audit snapshot files is the Inventory Repository. Optionally, you can specify another source directory by using the /SRC option. Optional /NO_[section] parameters can be used to exclude certain sections from the output.
