Finds the machines in directory but won't audit

Postby oampsuk on Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:23 am

Since we moved to our new servers whenever we try to audit our machines we receive the following messages.

- Failed: Error connecting to host. (Error 1130. Not enough server storage is available to process this command).
- Failed: Error connecting to host. (Error 53. The network path was not found).

The first error comes up when trying to audit my machine. I'm guessing the second error could relate to a machine that is turned off. Can you please advise what the problem may be?

Any ideas? Where is the support team as we are unable to make any of this software and I am not receiving any help? :(

In defense of support they have an announcement posted in every forum explaining that these forums are not for support. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4363 It clearly says how to get support if you want it.

As for these issues you may want to search the knowledge base. I found one of the issues there with a quick search.

You apparently don't have a support contract which is why you don't have access. I'll post the article contents here, but I'm worried if Alloy will slap me cause technically I'm giving you information you aren't paying for?? Alloy be merciful lol Just trying to help a guy out.

KB001390: Error '53 - Network Path not found' using the On-demand audit
OVERVIEW
While running the On-demand audit you may receive the following error message:

Error: 53 - Network Path not found

CAUSE
The Error 53 message usually indicates that File and Printer Sharing Components are disabled.

SOLUTION
1.Verify that File & Printer Sharing Component is installed and enabled on the remote machine. The detailed instructions are provided in the Getting Started Guide, article File and Printer Sharing Components are Disabled.
2.Ensure all the necessary File & Printer Sharing ports are open on all routers/firewalls between the local and remote machines, and in any type of firewall software on the remote machine.
3.Make sure the required communication protocols and ports are enabled:
Ports 139 and 445 (TCP and UDP). Both incoming and outgoing traffic should be allowed.
The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) protocol.
The Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) protocol.

To verify configuration run the following tests:

View the target computer via My Network Places or Network Neighborhood
Ping the machine in question
