Errors during Audit of 2 servers

Postby DSLBX on Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:51 am

During the audit of my network I received 2 error on 2 servers.

Failed: Error starting audit (\\servername\pipe\AlloyRemSvc. Error 2. The system cannot find the file specified)

Failed: Error connecting to host (Error 1219. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect.

What do these errors mean.

I sew this message (Error 1219) when I audited our servers before. There is Microsoft limitation for accessing server machines using the same account, only one connection per account is allowed. In another words someone else has already logged to the ‘problem’ server using the account you set for the On-demand audit.

I resolved by creating a dedicated account for the On-demand audit.

The situation with Error 1219 has been resolved in Alloy Discovery 5.0.2.
A workaround was implemented to kill dormant connections automatically.
