Cannot generate reports in Alloy Navigator 5

Postby AD27 on Mon Jun 09, 2008 4:38 pm

I'm attempting to use the report feature in Alloy Navigator 5, but constantly get the error "Cannot initialize Crystal Reports Viewer"

I currently have a licensed version of Crystal Report XI Release 2 .NET 2005 Server installed on the pc. I also went ahead and downloaded Crystal Reports Viewer XI from the Business Objects site, but I continue to run into this error.

Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

KB000777: Could not initialize Crystal Report viewer

You mentioined you downloaded the viewer, but did you install it? If it's installed you should see 'Crystal Reports XI Release 2 for Alloy Navigator' listed in add/remove programs.

If you have it installed I'd contact support directly.

Thanks for the reply. I did install Crystal Reports Viewer XI, but as I mentioned, I got it from the Business Objects site.

You said I should have Crystal Reports Viewer XI for Alloy Navigator. Is this something I have to purchase from Alloy in addition to the Navigator software or is it included?

Ah ok. I see.

No it's no charge. If you go to the Support Portal http://support.alloy-software.com and click on Downloads & Updates (left) you should see an entry for the Crystal Reports Viewer. This needs to be installed on any computer with the Main Console installed where reports will be viewed.

This worked after I installed the proprietary download.

Thank you. :D
