AN5 and URLs - Posting URL to take a tech directly to a tick

Postby JWGasner on Fri Sep 29, 2006 11:28 am

I'd like to include links in the email responses that would take the user or tech directly into the ticket.

So far the best I can do is use http://sitename/tech/myrequests.asp

In formating the email %[Ticket] is available to me but you don't use this when pulling a specific ticket up in your URL string.
Below is what you get:
http://sitename/tech/action.asp?action= ... 54BE83429F
Here is what I'm after:
http://sitename/tech/action.asp?action= ... et=T000218

This would allow me to use the Ticket variable in the email - either that or I could use the GUID if that was an available choice in the email variables.

Suggestions or can we get this added to the wish list

Thanks!

OK so I wasn't thinking hard enough....

Tech side
'http://sitename/tech/action.asp?action=view&type=myrequest&ticket=%[ID]%'

User side
'http://sitename/user/action.asp?action=view&type=incident&ticket=%[ID]%'

This does the trick nicely - you need the 'Single Quotes' or it won't put the trailing bracket into the url and it won't work.

If you are running 5.x, Alloy has released some Macros for this that make this much cleaner.
