Sending Emails with Attachments

Currently, we use a business rule to send emails with all of the activity
for a ticket to our development team, when the status of an incident is changed.
This works well, however we have not been able to figure out how to add attachments.

Has anyone had any success with this or does anyone have any ideas on how to
do this?

Also, is there a way to update a custom field based on the content of an email?

You won't be able to do this with version 5, however this is something that is available in version 6. It's currently in beta testing and Alloy says it will be released sometime in February.

You can do this one. You just have to configure a business rule to check it. You may need two rules depending on what you're doing since emails can come in and create tickets or activities. Let's pretend you mean ticket.

Ticket Rule
Event: Before object is saved
Condition:
initiator equals mail connector
description contains <word or phrase>
Action: Update custom field with value

Activity Rule
Event: Before object is saved
Condition:
initiator equals mail connector
Activity Details contains <word or phrase>
Action: Update custom field with value
