workstation ghosts not being correctly detected

Postby kbrown on Mon May 18, 2009 6:08 am

hello

am currently adding 7 new xp sp3 workstations to my network, have only rolled out 4 thus far, but have encountered a problem with how alloy navigator is detecting these machines.
they were all ghosted from the original workstation, all identical in specification, and now instead of adding each machine individually, alloy is just overwritting the existing record with data of last pc audited.

i deleted this record so that they could all be discovered again, but same thing happens
the 'name' of record is that of first machine audited
the 'asset tag' and all other data is that of the last machine audited.

the workstations in question all have unique netbios names and ip addresses and are audited as part of login script.
active directory sees them all as seperate machines, so does my kaspersky admin server
yet allow navigator cannot seem to distinguish them?
not knowing what exactly it is using to identify them, means i have no idea where to look to resolve this

any help would be appreciated

alloy navigator: Version: 5.3.0, Build: 509

resolved thanks to alloy support.

was a nice simple fix that just involved deleting the ina32.ini file that was located in
c:\windows\
also the ina32 folder that was on
c:\

must have logged in on the network on the original ghosted machine before i then cloned it
