Deleting locations with retired dependencies

Postby am on Wed Sep 10, 2008 9:23 am

Hi,

I'd like to remove a location/organization which has some dependent retired hardware.

Problem: I can't delete the location because it is referenced by other database objects and an I can't delete the related objects because they are retired. Is the any solution?

TIA,
Andreas Meier

Just wanted to follow up so it didn't seem this went unanswered. I believe support helped you with this by using business rules to update retired computer records with an approach like this:

Object: Computers
Event: Scheduled event occurred
Criteria: AND
- Retired equals True
- Locatioin equals 'Retired Office'
Actions: Update Fields
- Field Name: Location
- Operation: clear
