Filter out specific items.

I have a feeling I am brain dead today but I want to have a filter that filters out any item with a status of closed and resolved only. Any other ticket with blank status or not can be shown. What settings do I need under the advanced fiter tab?

You would do something like this in the advanced filter:

Code: Select all
AND
   Status does not equal closed
   Status does not equal resolved

I had that and it was not working properly. It displayed any other status except a blank status. After working around with it, I came up with:

Code: Select all
AND
  OR
    Status not like Closed
    Status is blank
  OR
    Status not like Resolved
    Status is blank

Doh! You beat me hehe

One thing I can offer is to get rid of the blanks. It makes life much easier.

For instance, you can set defaults for tickets so they're always set to something:

- tools > organize templates > service desk > incident
- open system and add status with whatever value you want

I use new as my default status, but I saw some others use unassigned.
