Business Rules - Auto Email When Almost Due Date

Postby future5 on Mon Nov 26, 2007 5:07 pm

I have tried setting up a business rule to send the technician an email when a ticket assigned to them is coming up to it's due date.

I used the filed "due date", and the comparison operator "is in the future by no more than".

However I am only able to select days. I would like to fire an email to the technician if the ticket is due in the next 3 hours for instance. Is this possible, and if so how would I do it?

When you add the condition to check the due date don't use the 'Standard' condition type (at the top when you add/edit a condition) Instead try using the 'Compare Two Date Fields'.

Then take note that when you browse for a field, there's a System Macros tab at the top where you can select <Now> This is the current time.

You'll find you can set this up a bit easier now by doing something like:

Date 1: Due Date
is after
Date 2: <Now>
by less than 2 hours

or whatever time interval you want.
