Need Crystal Reports plugin

Hi all,

We have a CR Dev edition and would like to use the >Right-click>edit report functionality, but have run into red tape with Alloy sales about providing "proof of purchase" for CR Dev license, apparently email confirmation we've got when we bought the license online is not good enough.

After all that I'm not even sure what is it that we need - I found a reference here on the forum about "plugin" for Dev CR, and if that's what we need can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Hi Haris,

The plugin is only provided to customers from us and our ability to provide that plugin is based on our ability to access proof of purchase. This is our license agreement with Business Objects. I'm not sure I'd call it red tape.

I'm not sure about the email since I didn't see it (not in sales), but being in technology you can understand that an email may not be acceptable.

I'll have sales contact you again if you'd like to see if there are any other alternatives if what you've sent isn't acceptable.

So here is my problem then : we purchased an upgrade online using credit card, and got a confirmation email in which it specifically says "Please use this as your proof of purchase". I understand you may be reluctant to accept an email as a proof of purchase but what other option do I have? There is no OEM sticker with flashy colors I can snail mail to you, and if you want to see fax of credit card statement how exactly do you expect that would be harder to fake than email?

I mean I'm losing days on this thing and if I wanted to get something we are not entitled to I could have just downloaded the bloody thing without asking anyone of anything. All I'm trying to do is stay within rules of the game and not jeopardise support which we paid for dearly, and what I'm getting in return is a run around.

Thanks for your response, even though it took 10 days to get to it.

Yes, you already received an email about this today (and responded), sales will work with you to determine the best way to resolve this. As I mentioned it comes down to what is an acceptable proof of purchase.

As for the 10 day response time, be aware that this forum is not a means to contact sales or support. It's designed to be a community based forum and because of that, there are no SLAs or timeframes associated with it. From what I see your contact with us via normal channels has been extremely responsive.

See the support guidelines for what you can expect in terms of responses - http://www.alloy-software.com/support/guidelines.html
