Helo command rejected

Good afternoon.

We are using Alloy Asset Navigator 4. Just yesterday, our web help desk which had been working fine broke.

Here are mail settings from our global.asa (redacted and changed for security, of course):

'---------------------------------------------
' Mail Setting
'---------------------------------------------
Session("SMTPHost")="1.2.3.4"
Session("SMTPPort")="25"
Session("SMTPUser")="user"
Session("SMTPPassword")="pass"
Session("SMTPAuth")=True

When we try to create a new ticket, we receive the error "Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname". I'm assuming this is because we're only using the IP address for SMTPHost, but if we use the fully-qualified name for that server, we receive a different error message. It DID work until yesterday with the IP address in SMTPHost.

Any ideas?

The msg says it requires the FQDN and you said it gives you a different msg when you do, but you didn't post it. What's the msg?
