acessing the user help desk from outside the firewall

2) in the setup pdf for the user help desk:

scheme 4 (windows / off) has listed as a disadvantage that the helpdesk is accessible from outside the firewall.

Is that a misprint?

Sheme 3 (windows / basic) has listed that it cannot be accesses from outside the firewall.

Currently we use scheme 2, but would like to have local users use windows authentication (mainly so they don't have to remember another password). Later, we might want to give access to those outside the firewall.

Trying to figure the best scheme for us to go with

Probably neither windows authentication scheme will allow for access from outside of your firewall, unless you have an unusual setup. If you want external users to access the web interface, you will have to use Standard authentication.
