Self Registration Not Working Right

I am using Windows authentication for helpdesk.

Everything works great except authenticated domain users do not self register like they are supposed to. I have to go in and add them individually then they are able to connect to the helpdesk webpage.

If I don't add them individually this is what they get when they connect to helpdesk.

"Error: An Invalid Active Directory pathname was passed"

If then go into AN and register them as web users with Windows authentication, then next time they connect without problems.

Also, I do have automatic registration for authenticated Windows users enabled.

I have the same problem with a different error message: the server is not operational

This indicates that AD could not be contacted. Generally because the web interface is not on a domain, is on an NT 4 domain, or the domain is not configured properly.
